"Disabled Parking"

As a frequent visitor to the royal free hospital i am very aware of the parking restrictions and the need to clearly display my blue badge and clock whenever using a disabled bay, also the need for permission from the many staff who's job it is to ensure that the vehicles who drive outside of the hospital do not abuse the area or restrictions at all times. So you can imagine how very very distraught i was when after a visit for a important appointment before christmas we received a parking ticket for parking in a disabled bay without a permit or permission!???

As if this is not bad enough, but on top of this pcn for £100 we also had a letter from the hire company who's vehicle we were driving at the time for a fee of £40 for administration costs due to them having had to pass on our details as being the driver at the time!??

So iv had to spend several hours and needed the help and patience of my daughter to of course send in my appeal letter as at no point was both the blue badge and clock on display as they always are and also the right permission was sought by us on the day but more importantly the driver never left the car at any time during the 38 stay!

The notice for this so called offence included 2 pictures of the car the first one was so unclear and grainy and the second was totally black? How on earth did they see anything let alone the badge and clock which were absolutely there ! So after requesting them to look properly at the many moments of cctv footage so that they may apologies for distress and anxiety not to mention the hours of my and my daughters time spent typing up and running around to photo copy badges ect!

They should try and park outside the royal free hospital some time, and they would realise its impossible to do unauthorised due to the many staff who's job it is to ensure that the restrictions are not abused!! So i now need to wait anxiously for the response back to the appeal before i can get the £40 back from the hire company. I have informed both motability opperations and rsa motability about the matter. Thanks for reading. Please feel free to give your thoughts.
