"Consistently thoughtful and caring"

I have been under the care of this team for over 20 years and they are consistently considerate, kind and well organised. From the receptionists to clinical staff, the humanity of the team is very clear. I am always treated with respect and to the best of their ability, the doctors always give me time to explain my needs. I have an on-going health condition which is hard to manage and I am always treated with patience and my concerns are never minimised. One of the things that the doctors and nurses do that I particularly like is that each doctor or nurse walks to the waiting area to invite their patient to the consulting room which I think typifies the patient centred, human face of their ethos. It makes you feel cared for as you are escorted by a friendly practitioner welcoming you in. I have also thought that it is good for the health care professionals as they get to move out from their desks regularly, stretch their legs, see other colleagues and the world outside of the four walls of their consulting room. It sounds such a small gesture but it makes me feel safe and important and helps me to trust them to take care of me because they are, in small ways, taking care of themselves. I have had to have numerous referrals in the past 5 or so years and all have been undertaken diligently with timely and appropriate follow up. I feel really pleased that Archwood is the medical practice that I attend, I can speak to a doctor easily if I follow their protocol, and knowing that there are always on the day appointments available first thing in the morning for an emergency makes me feel secure in my access to care. Even when an emergency happened later in the day, a nurse found a space for my daughter to be seen. I think that the practice's approach to the pandemic was sensible and clear and again, I felt respected whenever I had to access a doctor by phone. This is a well organised, warm and friendly practice that have been helping me get better from the worst aspects of my condition, and looking after the health of my three children as they have grown into adulthood.
