"ED Majors Bed 1 - 10/01/22 AM-PM"

About: Royal Bournemouth Hospital

All staff from receptionists, nurses, ambulance crew & consultants were first class especially considering the current work load during the pandemic. The emergency care I received was second to none and I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone that helped that day/evening.

My visit to BMT A&E Majors Bed 1 ended in the early hours of Tuesday when I was transported to Poole Majors for further assessment. Prior to this I hope I put a few smiles on peoples faces with my light hearted banter. One female doctor in particular (sorry I can’t remember your name due to the Oramorph :-) was very caring, professional and looked after me well so thank you whoever you are x

To my relief I left Poole Hospital on Tuesday evening after a total of 7 x-rays, 1 CT Scan and an MRI that finally helped diagnose C6 & C7 vertebrae fractures. Thankfully I walked out with just a neck brace after Southampton confirmed surgery was not necessary :-)

To all Bmth / Poole / Southampton NHS staff, thank you for all your hard work and care you gave me in these very difficult times.

Dear Mike

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, it sounds like you had quite a traumatic situation to deal with and we are pleased to hear you were finally able to walk out of Southampton hospital with just a neck brace.

It was nice to hear you managed to keep your sense of humour during what must have been a worrying time, I am sure the staff appreciated this.

We are pleased you found the staff first class and clearly worked well as a wider team from the paramedic’s right through to being transferred to Southampton.

We will be pleased to share your kind comments with the teams here at UHD as they are always uplifted to hear when things went well.

Regards

Patient Experience Team
