Every appointment at AMH was great, never felt rushed. My appointments were very informative, every question answered.
For our Planned c section every team member I met leading up to going to theatre were great. We were then greeted by our midwife, friendly and spoke away whilst walking to theatre helped my nerves. Everyone in theatre made a relaxing environment, chatty and felt very professional. Even when they said my baby was “stuck” and needing extra hands to get baby out it still felt at ease.
We were transferred to recovery after the safe birth of our baby. I started to feel quite a lot of pain so morphine was advised by my midwife. A junior doctor spoke to me and went to sort medication. I could hear a conversation where they said that they couldn’t administer the morphine and another doctor should. This conversation went on for a while. I am not sure what happened but eventually the junior doctor returned and administered the morphine. I possibly should have queried this .
Later were transferred to Summerfield ward. Throughout my 5 day stay the level of care was excellent. Due to covid restrictions - 1 visitor allowed between 8-8, staff were always offering an extra hand, even just checking to see how we were. It’s greatly appreciated as how busy they are. With the ward being quieter with visitors I actually preferred this, meant I could recover peacefully. When I had my first child I found the constant visitors in the ward too much as it tend to go on all day at each bed.
Thank you to all at AMH in the safe pregnancy and arrival of our baby
