Before I came into hospital I began to feel unwell and wanted to get to the bottom of my shortness of breath. I came in via A+E which was an eye-opener as it is such a busy place. However, considering the circumstances and the pressure that they are under, everyone was brilliant. I did have a long wait, understandably, but it meant I hadn't eaten or drank anything for hours, which was uncomfortable. I also had no pillow on my bed and didn't want to be a ''pest'' and ask.
However, I couldn't fault the staff and the care they have provided to me. The nurses and doctors are excellent and super approachable. I am treated with the utmost respect and the staff are able to cope with the pressure so well. I am happy with how hygienic my environment is.
I am finding it difficult to maintain my own hygiene. There are no plugs in the sink to hold water, so I can't freshen up. Even the option of a basin would be useful. Small things, like no marmalade and damp toast are just simple things that make you miss home comforts... just constructive feedback.
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me on 3 North.
