"Lack of gritting for ice"

About: New Stobhill Hospital (Glasgow)

(as a service user),

In early January my mum had an appt at New Stobhill.  There was a yellow weather warning for snow ahead of today.  We got to the grounds of Stobhill a little late but given the weather this was fine.  Unfortunately and disappointingly the grounds of the hospital (roads and pavements) had not been gritted WHATSOEVER.  We entered via the entrance at Stobhill Cottages I think it’s called but no cars, mini buses or whatsoever were getting up the hill within the grounds as it was pure ice and sheer carnage. The grounds had not been maintained in any shape or form.

Patients, staff and visitors were let down.  You may want to blame covid but there was no excuse for the lack of maintenance to the grounds.  It took 90 minutes for me to get from the entrance to the hospital to the entrance.

Dear Cardio Care

Thank you for getting in touch via Care Opinion.

I am very sorry to hear about the difficulties you encountered when attending Stobhill Hospital for your Mum’s appointment and that we let down our patients, staff and visitors.

I have shared your story with my colleagues in Estates to bring this to their attention and to ensure this does not happen again.

Please pass on my apologies to your Mum.

Kind Regards

Nicole
