"A nurse working non stop"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I had to visit Glasgow Royal Infirmary today as requested by my doctor. The waiting times were bad, and even though I can understand the wait , I can still feel frustrated. Sitting in the A&E waiting room, I watched one nurse book people in , check patients minor ailments, answer queries and deal with patients for three hours. To my surprise, when I eventually got taken through to a bed in A&E, I saw the exact same women dealing with patients through here. This got me thinking that these people are trying to do such a great job in such horrendous times - they deserve a lot of credit …….. so Sister Collins in Glasgow Royal Infirmary……. Thank you.

Hello, thank you for getting in touch, I am sorry that you experienced a delay in being reviewed during what you describe as a very busy time in our emergency department. It was kind of you to take the time to acknowledge how busy the department was and recognise the efforts of our staff and in particular Sister Collins. I will ensure your kind words are shared with the team and Sister Collins in particular.

Best wishes

John Carson
