After suffering from hip and knee pain, I phoned for an ambulance to Daisy Hill. The ambulance crew were absolutely perfect in every way and I had a grand experience with them.
I was then admitted to A&E where I was kept overnight. I had to wait a while and it was not very nice when in pain to lie on a trolley for this amount of time, but I received pain relief thankfully. All the staff have been very good working under the current circumstances and pressures.
Up on the Female Surgical Ward it has been grand - very good up here. Every member of staff has been excellent - really understanding, patient and kind - from the consultant right down to the cleaning staff.
The only real thing that needs improving is the food. The meals really are not great. Thy are all quite stodgy. There is not much fresh fruit - you can get an apple or a banana, but you cannot get any strawberries, grapes or melon etc. There is also not much fresh vegetables; all you get is broccoli etc. - a bit more variety would be nice, for example turnip. I also think more lighter options should be available at lunch, rather than just potatoes at both lunch and dinner which is a bit much.
Other than this, everything else is fine.
