I unfortunately caught covid during my stay on ward 18 at Stoke Mandeville hospital in early January 2022. I wore a mask initially but was told there’s no need to do this on the ward. As I was tested on arrival, I assumed this was the reason as everyone else must have been tested too.
A patient in my bay was found to have covid which is probably how I caught it. One thing I noticed was when my stats were taken, the finger reader was not cleaned between patients. Therefore if a positive patient uses that finger sensor, there’s a strong chance that subsequent patients will pick up the virus? Is this an oversight or should cleaning between patients start?
