"Prompt and person-centred response"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Mermaid Centre

(as the patient),

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and I have found the response very quick and person-centred.  The Breast Care Nurses have been wonderful in supporting - acknowledging my concerns and not dismissing them, and talking me through both the physical expectations of the treatment I am to have and how this has affected my mental health.

The information that I have been given is informative and I suppose the only thing is that my diagnosis doesn't just affect me and I would have hoped there was more information for supporting for my children, who are young adults, but are important to me.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us, please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you on here. I was pleased to see that the care you received following your diagnosis was quick and person-centred. It is lovely to see how the Breast Care Nurses have helped to support you, acknowledging your concerns and not dismissing them.

I am responding to you as a member of the Patient and Family Experience Team here at the Trust, but I will share your story with the Breast Care Nurses, not only to share your kind comments, but to also allow them to reflect on your suggestions.
