"Awful inpatient stay"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was admitted with a fractured ankle,I had surgery and discharged two days later. My stay was awful. The person who gave out meals was rude and unhelpful. They put the tray on the side table out of reach, saying they weren't allowed to move the table for me to reach it. There were no pillows,, my leg was propped up on a few blankets, it was low and painful. There were no pillows for the bed. I was taken for X-ray and left in the corridor for an hour. No porter would take me back saying I was from a covid exposed ward so they wasn't allowed. Eventually one took pity and took me back, asked the HCA to take me to my bed space as the porter wasn't allowed, the reply was just that I was not their patient. The two nurses ignored the porter .It was awful.

The Tv didn't work and staff said no one could fix it. I was discharged without a sick note, the nurse said no doctors were working so couldn't get one. Advised me to ring next week. I have rang and ward said to go to my GP for one. Poor communication. Everything about my nhs experience on the ward was awful.
