"Labour and Pregnancy"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

The support  from the borders general staff was fantastic throughout my pregnancy and when I finally went into labour. Every appointment was thorough and they always made sure I was happy before heading home.  The staff are so friendly, kind, approachable and made me feel at ease, they were always available and at the end of the phone.

During my labour the staff were fantastic acting quickly and keeping my husband up to date with things. We were both well looked after and the aftercare was phenomenal, once my boy was born we were well supported through the parent hood journey and with breast feeding. I had to stay in hospital for a few days and at Christmas and it was like having extended family with me. My husband stayed a few nights and each every midwife started and ended their shift with the same motivation, support, positivity and energy. This helped me massively their optimism and patience really helped me as a new mum. I had a wonderful start with their help to my journey as a parent and it will be a time I will always remember and be grateful for. The support was incredible l.

Hi Janna32,

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It is great to hear you felt supported and well cared for throughout your pregnancy and following the birth of your son. It is important to us that people feel safe and that staff are listening to what is important to you. I shall share your feedback with the staff.

I hope you are all settling in at home following your Christmas stay with us.

best wishes

Shona
