I had gastroscopy and colonoscopy taken 8 weeks ago where numerous biopsies were taken. I was advised results would take between 4 -6 weeks, nursing staff informed me if i hadn’t heard within 6 weeks to call GP. At 6 weeks called but no results, at 8 weeks I called my GP again to ask about results but results still pending. Called hospital but receptionist told me my results would go straight to GP as i was not attached to any hospital consultant.
Whilst I appreciate the pressures the NHS is currently experiencing I am growing increasingly worried about results, but no news is good news” right? I am curious as to how long I have to wait as I keep getting told “6 weeks is a guideline”.
