"dissapointing, its a pity"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

My 86 year old mother was recently an inpatient on Zachary Cope ward. While generally staff are helpful, it doesn't seem to have been a friendly service.

She was advised the night before departure that she would be leaving the next day at 2pm and transport was arranged. Shame this information wasn't passed to the doctors and pharmacy. 2pm comes and goes, as does 3, 4, 5 still without being discharged. No food either. Come 8pm my mum has to beg for a sandwich, and finally the meds arrive too at 9pm. So after sitting on her bed from morning till night, without being offered food or care, she finally arrived home at gone 10 at night.

Now trying to arrange for social services to visit, and they wont. Why not because the ward was, i quote 'too busy to talk to the care worker'. The result no COVID test at the hospital and so no carers until we take her for a PCR test.

Disappointing to the extreme, we hear how busy the NHS is but clearly not all NHS departments are as busy. or is it just lack of care and compassion. Would i recommend St Marys, clearly not.
