"I have had to go to SDH a number ..."

About: Salisbury District Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I have had to go to SDH a number of times as a patient when I had a massive haemorrhage & rushed to A&E where I had more than half my blood replaced & when my dad had cancer. What were traumatic experiences were alleviated by the service, assistance and care provided by the hospital. The Hospice is also a brillaint facility & although my dad died, again their help, attention and care was excellent. It made painful experiences more bearable.

What could be improved

Parking, this is very stressful when trying to find a parking space especialy when taking my dad for his cancer treatment: not enough spaces yet the Dr and Nurses carpark was often empty or not very full at all..

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experiences at Salisbury District Hospital and Salisbury Hospice.

We understand how frustrating it was trying to find a parking space around the hospital site. In the spring of 2007, we were able to extend one of our car parks to provide an additional 260 parking spaces for patients and visitors. New signposts have been installed to direct patients and visitors to the main car park which is situated rear of the main hospital building.
