After experiencing bleeding at 5 weeks pregnant on the Monday, I called the Pregnancy Support Centre at ERI.
They were brilliant on the telephone, asked lots of relevant questions, and I felt that they took my concerns seriously and were very understanding. They got me in for a blood test that afternoon, and a scan the following day.
Although the bleeding stopped for a while, it eventually started again, and I thought that I had miscarried at home on the Thursday evening. I called them first thing Friday morning to see whether it was possible to get a scan to confirm the miscarriage (this early on it's a bit hard to tell), and due to a cancellation they managed to get me a scan that morning.
Sadly, the scan confirmed our bad news, but our entire experience was made more bearable by the kind, attentive, concerned but calming attitude of all of the staff at the PSC that we came into contact with (at least four individuals, including nurses and scanning staff).
We are very grateful to the staff for our positive experience during a difficult time.
"Kind and calm care before and after miscarriage"
