Saturday evening chest pains I had got worse called 111, they sent an ambulance which came fairly quickly, great crew from Okehampton, very professional, hat tip to the 1st responder who turned up within 20 mins to start process, brilliant service , very innovative.
I was seen fairly quickly and bloods taken, it did slow down here for a couple of hours. I saw a doctor at around 10.40 who decided to keep me in for observation, it was busy and did take a good few hours to find me a ward bed.
The covid rules were extremely well planned, I had a very bad reaction to the 1st jab and have decided too dangerous to have any further, I am extremely vulnerable but always felt very safe. Once on the MAU ward I was extremely well cared for, at around 8am I was woken up. By 9.45am I had been seen by the specialist, diagnosed drugs prescribed.
Problems arose with the pharmacy it was going to take 4 hours to get prescription. Staff worked on it and very quickly got me a prescription which I was able to take to Boots on the Sunday.
On two previous occasions approximately 18 months ago I had 2 very bad experiences at the same A & E to the point where I swore I would never go there again so I was very nervous when I was forced to go there or drive myself to Exeter. Obviously something has changed for the better I was impressed with all the staff I came into contact with there, professional and friendly.
