"Wait time in A&E"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Presented at A&E folowing NICE guidlines for medical emergency. Have sat now for 4 hours.. Reception told me my husband was next as i was becoming concerned about his condition. 5 people have now gone before us and 1 walked straight through the doors let in by a paramedic. Not impressed. While i appreciate the times we live in this is not care.

Dear Cooperlo

I'm very sorry to hear about your husband's recent experience when attending the Emergency Department at University Hospital Monklands and would like to apologise for the delays incurred. Unfortunately due to an increase in demand for our services, patients have been experiencing delays.

It would be helpful if you could contact my Patient Affairs colleagues so that we can understand the issues in more detail, to allow for your feedback to be used with staff to review practice to avoid this happening in the future. They can be contacted at PatientAffairs.Monklands@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk or Tel No: 01236 713065. Please quote care opinion reference 904014 in any communication.

Kind regards.

Lesley
