"Perfect staff on 2 South"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Craigavon Area Hospital / General Medicine (2 south) Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I can’t say a bad word about any of the staff here on 2 South. Both the doctors and nurses I have had are all so nice. I fell in my home last Saturday and waited 12 hours for an ambulance to come. The ambulance staff were so lovely and nice to me when they arrived. Thankfully I was brought promptly to this ward and I am feeling much happier and better now. It is lovely here. The HCAs are so friendly and chatty. The staff work too hard here and in fact they need both more workers and more money for what they do. The cleaning has been perfect and the people who come round with the tea in the evening are great too. The food is good too. The doctor says I’ll be able to go home when I can walk properly again but I will need to go to Lurgan hospital for rehab beforehand which I don’t mind as it is a lovely hospital too.

Thank you so much for your kind compliments for the staff who attended to you after your recent fall.

I am sincerely sorry that you had such a long wait for an ambulance response. I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that we are doing everything we can to address the barriers we face both internally and from an inter-trust perspective to rectify these issues.

I am delighted the staff who arrived were able to make up for the delay and they offered you care and compassion along with their clinical expertise.
