About: Sexual Health Services - North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (Open Clinic)

(as a service user),

I will start by saying my Dr was completely professional and I have no complaints about the procedure or the Dr. He was thorough, professional etc.

However my issue was that I was not told or advised or warned I'd be having a male Dr nor asked if that would be ok. At the moment I did go ahead but I felt uncomfortable having a male perform the refit and would have been grateful to have been given a choice considering the intimacy of the procedure.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the service you received. I would like to apologise for you not being made aware that your appointment was with a male doctor. We do have a policy of making our patients aware that we have both male and female coil fitters when we book appointments, so if this wasn't make clear to you, I do apologise. I have ensured staff are reminded about this.

I am pleased to hear that the male doctor you did see was professional and you were able to continue with the procedure.
