I am so grateful for the NHS and our vaccination team, who are clearly working so hard to deliver vaccinations with the government guidance. However, I was really disappointed with the professionalism of the staff who were working at the Glenrothes drop-in. After been checked in at reception by a friendly staff member, I was then placed in the waiting area with several other members of the public.
The member of staff taking details, due to capacity, told the front door staff to go down the queue and tell them they will be waiting 40 minutes and they can then decide between themselves who wants to bear the news to the people waiting. They appeared to be a senior member of staff, so I think they should have walked the length of the queue and told the members of the public waiting.
The same member of staff then appeared to call a nurse on Teams, to advise them that the area was full. They said it’s a nightmare and then was advised that a member of staff would be sent down. They then ended the telephone call, talking to their colleague, stating how helpful it was in a sarcastic tone.
I understand the team are under a great amount of pressure and are doing their best, however it was so unprofessional to members of the public. If they have comments to make, don’t do it where members of the public can hear, as it gives such a bad impression.
