About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I was informed, supported and professionally cared for during my labour and after. The midwife’s kept to my birth plan as the situation allowed and reminded me of my wishes and choices throughout. 

They kept my partner informed and supported him as well. 

They ensured we were hydrated and fed and had everything we needed.

Thank you for providing your feedback. It is important for us to hear both what went well and what could be improved to help us ensure we do everything possible to support those who use our services.

I am delighted to hear that you felt staff supported your wishes which meant you felt in control and safe. I shall ensure your kind words are shared with staff.

If you would like to contact me directly to let me know how we could improve the birthing rooms I would appreciate it. If we were able to upgrade our facilities having en-suite facilities would be a priority.
