"Feeling judged"

About: Change Grow Live Cambridgeshire / Wisbech

(as a service user),

When I call my worker they never answer

They never believe what I say and I feel like they see me as another addiction

How can you be in a role like this and treat people like this

Most of us have mental health issues and when you do the stuff you do like accuse us of saying things we have not

Not picking up or calling us back for days

A year or 2 ago CGL Wisbech was an awesome place to be the workers were amazing now you get palmed of with anyone you have a different worker every few months, I feel like prescriptions are withheld when there is no need to.

I'm told you're there to help but its not feeling like it. I've spoke to many other service users who also feel the same as I thought maybe it was just me as my mental health ain't always great but I now know its not. I feel there is a problem with judgemental staff who are stuck in old ways of doing things. Wish you had the old staff as at least they supported us.

Hi Wisbech12345

Firstly, thanks for getting in contact. Some people may not think that we would want to hear this but we do. We do want to hear when it doesn't work so we can put it right.

You mention that you use the Wisbech service and in terms of staff turnover we have had a couple of staff move on and new staff join the team. This is generally in line with other services. We do try to make sure we manage the transition of cases when people do leave as best we can. We know this can be a difficult time when someone loses their keyworker and then gets allocated to someone else.

On the point of holding prescriptions, we are very conscious to work within the guidance and as we prescribe a controlled drug we have to be sure it is safe to do so and sometimes holding prescriptions is a good way to connect with someone to see if they are OK as often people miss collections.

Of course I do not know who you are, but I would welcome you to contact me so we can ensure your complaint follows the correct process. You mention others feel the same and I would encourage them to come forward too.

In terms of balance, I would point out that on this site there are numerous stories of people who have had good experiences at our service, but I do absolutely accept that you do not feel this way so lets get in touch and have a conversation about it. Please email me on Paul.Pescud@cgl.org.uk

Thanks

Paul
