My 81 yr old mother had a podiatry appointment at John Mitchel place, Newry 2 weeks ago. She has sciatica at the moment and hence needed some help to access her appointment. We were very fortunate as we were able to access parking on site; and so she hadn't far to walk. We were taken for her appointment on time by her podiatrist Niaomi, donned in her PPE. She was extremely professional, allowed me to accompany my Mum to assist her on/ off the bed and with her socks and shoes (maintaining her dignity as she did not want a stranger to help) and chatted away in a friendly manner; putting my Mum at ease. She was very thorough with her examination , treatment , cleaning and sanitising. We felt very safe and well looked after. As my Mum is on blood thinners and has a platelet disorder that affects her ability to clot at times, we are afraid to attend practitioners outside the NHS and so my Mum's nails had got quite long. Naomi assured us that she would review the frequency of visits to ensure her feet did not get as bad again. This was very reassuring as Mum is struggling to stay mobilising independently at the moment; keeping her nails in order and her feet pain free certainly contributes to maintaining her mobility. Thank you Naomi for your holistic, professional, safe and effective care .
