We attended A&E in the Causeway hospital as our child started having problems with breathing. The A&E doctor Colm that saw us was excellent. The department was obviously under a lot of pressure but he was extremely patient and kind. He took the time to explain everything to us and listen to our concerns.

Thankfully our child improved following observations. On discharge he again gave us all the advice we needed and warned us of things that might happen and what to do. He also made us feel very comfortable that if we needed their help again to come back.

Sorry to hear you had to attend ED recently as your child was unwell. Being a parent can cause much anxiety, stress and worry especially when they are unwell.

Thank you for your kind acknowledegment of the ED Doctor, Colm. It will be with great pleasure that I will share this lovely feedback.

As you have alluded to the ED can be at times extremley busy with a lot of competing demands, and clinically unwell patients. However, it is reassuring to know that staff still take time with patients and their carers/relatives, to ensure they are put at ease, reassured and fully informed. It really makes a difference to patient experience.

Thanks again, and I hope your child is feeling a lot better. As Colm stated, do not hesitate to return if you feel your child requires medical input.
