"Amazing care and treatment "

About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

I can’t express my gratitude to the team that operated on my mum who had cancer. All the doctors and nurses were amazing, and her chemotherapy consultant and the nurses on the urgent care line were fantastic too. There was a nurse in the post operation room (she worked during night shifts) who neglected my mum when she had a problem with her bladder. Mum asked for help multiple times which she didn’t get. The nurse told her that she is “fine” without checking her, and eventually when she was in too much pain there was a nurse who did an ultrasound of her bladder and she confirmed that my mum’s bladder couldn’t be emptied, so I’m very grateful for her help. This is a 5 star review for the nurse who did the scan and all the doctors and nurses except for the nurse who ignored my mum when she was clearly in pain. Her bladder could have ruptured if it wasn’t for the nurse who helped her in the end. I can’t imagine the pressure the nurses are under, but it’s not ok to ignore patients like that.

Thank you so so much for saving my mum’s life and for making her post operation period comfortable. A thank you isn’t enough for all your amazing and hard work.
