"Informed me of what they were doing at each step"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

This week I had two radiotherapy sessions and a planning session, having previously had a very mixed experience of care and errors during my cancer journey.

The interaction and care from the radiotherapy department has been very positive, all staff I encountered about 8 in total were very empathetic, kind, clear and professional informing me what they were doing at each step. Thank you

Dear Larjag33

I was really sorry to read that you have had a mixed experience during your cancer treatment. This is something that we do not want for any patient and would firstly like to sincerely apologise for this.

However it is really heartening to hear that the radiotherapy department have provided you with such a person centred caring experience. Positive comments such as these are a great morale boost for staff, therefore I will pass these comments on to the staff concerned.

I hope your treatment is going well and you are not having too many side effects

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on care opinion at what must be an already stressful time for you and your family.

Kindest Regards

Yvonne
