"Contacting a consultant"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Gynaecology (Ward 13)

(as a service user),

I saw Dr Rajagopal at the women’s health unit in Wishaw general. She was lovely. She told me to get in touch if I had follow up queries. That was around 10 weeks ago and I have tried repeatedly with no joy.

I have left 5 voicemails (in addition to phoning numerous times for it to ring out or go to voicemail), a voicemail with an alternative secretary, a message with the women’s health unit and a voicemail on what turned out to be a Monklands fertility clinic after the women’s health unit gave me the number.

No one has called me back and it is proving impossible to contact her.

I have follow up questions I need addressed. Please can this contact process be reviewed as it’s incredibly frustrating to hit brick walls when trying to contact a consultant you’re under the care of.

Dear Poster576

Thank you for posting your feedback on Care Opinion. I was very sorry to read that you have been unable to make contact with your consultant, despite making numerous attempts to do so.

I would suggest that you contact the Patient Affairs Team at University Hospital Wishaw, by emailing them on PatientAffairs.wishaw@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk quoting care opinion 900042 in your email. They should be able to assist with your enquiry.

I hope that this matter can be resolved for you.

Best wishes.

Lesley
