"Emergency coil implant"

About: South Tyrone Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I travelled to Newry to have an emergency copper coil implant inserted and was quite nervous about the procedure as it is known to be painful and uncomfortable. The two nurses tending to me, Oonagh and Leslie, could not have been kinder or more reassuring throughout the entire process. They were happy to helpfully answer my questions even when I was repeating myself and they even offered me tea or coffee after procedure to make sure I was ok.

The ladies and everyone at the clinic were friendly, caring and extremely approachable, I felt comfortable and there was no judgement at all. I can’t thank them enough.

Hi @plutobd46

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell your story.

I am delighted to hear your experience at our service was extremely positive. Attending for an emergency coil can be a very daunting experience for many women and your story will help and encourage others to attend with less fear and apprehension.

I am so pleased to hear all your questions were answered and you felt reassured. Our entire team work so hard to ensure all women attending our service are given reliable and up to date information and are able to make informed choices in a safe environment.

I will ensure this feedback is passed to all member of our team.

Thank you again.
