"Not safe"

I am a doctor myself. I called the practice with symptoms that could be a type of cancer a month ago and some tests were organised. There was no follow up and after 4 weeks of chasing I haven't managed to speak to a doctor again about this issue. My appointment has been cancelled twice due to staff illness, and one of the times I wasn't informed. If I wasn't a health professional myself I would not know the significance of these symptoms and could easily have dropped off the radar. I have not yet been examined.

Additionally, when I was at the surgery I overheard the reception staff rudely turn away a patient because her appointment had been cancelled and not accept the fact that she had not been told.

It takes at least half an hour to get through on the phone. It seems impossible to get a face to face appointment.
