I visited the Vaccination base today at the Community Hospital in Forth Valley. I have nothing but praise for the efforts of the staff today but a couple of things could be better. There were a large number of people queuing and it seemed it was a mixture of people with appointments and walk-ins. Not sure that this is the most efficient method especially when people who have appointments may have work etc to return to.
When queuing, people are called forward to head up the stairs to the second floor. Today however too many people were allowed through which caused many of us to have to queue in the stairwell before reaching the hallway. This is not safe from a mobility point of view but worse, the stairwell has no ventilation and also has people passing going back down stairs. Surely this isn't a good idea especially given the "space" advice from government and did make me feel slightly anxious.
I am very thankful for the efforts our health service are making to make sure we can be vaccinated. A few tweaks and it would be perfect.
