I came into AMU as I just didn't feel well and have been taking anti biotics for an ongoing infection. The nursing staff have been perfect but I found the doctors bedside manner to be horrific. I feel like one doctor in particular didn't listen to me. I feel it is to do with the fact I have COPD but still continue to smoke even though I shouldn't it is a stress related thing for me and sedative. I also feel it is out of boredom and because I have lost some independence recently. The doctor did make me feel quite small.
I feel like I just shut down when I'm spoke to in a serious way. However all the other staff here have been good. I have diabetes and I would love a lot more clear concise written out instructions on how to take my insulin. I do not use phones much as they give me anxiety but written support would help me feel much better. I know I am meant to ring each day but sometimes I forget what day it is never mind the rest.
"Bad bedside manner"
