About: Change Grow Live / North West Recovery Service - Edinburgh

(as a service user),

I left treatment free of substance but full of emotion. Mentally I was shaken up. CGL was there for me. They listened to me, and made suggestions to help me deal with my mixed feelings and how to adjust to other people, like by attending SMART meetings. This has really helped me to think about how to manage my life, substance-free. I have a lot of gratitude for my case worker Jason and the other members of the team. I have always been treated with respect, and I’ve never felt judged. It’s hard enough to find your voice in early recovery, and it’s good to feel valued. CGL have helped me access the support I need and have shown me tools that will help me in recovery, and taught me how to use them.

Hi Fergus99,

Firstly congratulations on achieving abstinence and for facing your emotions which are often the most difficult parts of recovery. It is great to hear that you are attending SMART as this is a platform where you can start dealing with your issues with like minded people through sharing experiences and supporting each other. Thank you for your kind words about CGL and in particular your worker Jason. As I'm sure you are becoming aware recovery is a journey which is made easier with the help or others. Keep up the good work Fergus99. Don't forget just how much you have done "all the support in the world is useless until you are willing to use it". You have done Amazing and thank you for your feed back, all the best from everyone at CGL NW.
