"My little girls visit"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Paediatric Unit

(as a service user),

I attended the children's ward with my little girl recently. She has reoccurring bowel problems and on this occasion had began getting worse. We have attending the children's ward on a few occasions and always had a positive experience but this visit was exceptional. I wanted to give recognition to Caitlin the student nurse who was on shift the afternoon we attended. Caitlin was so attentive to my little girl who is only 15 months old and was becoming distressed. Caitlin assisted the drs in taking blood which obviously wasn't an easy task for a mum to listen to but she reassured me in such a kind manner as well as my daughter. Caitlin will definitely make one amazing nurse when she qualifies.

Dear Hailey,

Thank you for taking the time to post this feedback. It makes a huge difference to staff when they hear, directly from families, that they have done a good job. I am glad that your experiences in the children's ward at Dr Grays are usually positive but it sounds like on this occasion the care given by Caitlin was exceptional! I will be sure to let Caitlin know that she is already making a huge difference to children and families and I look forward to hearing how her career progresses. I will also let the Senior Charge Nurse and Caitlin's placement mentor know what a fantastic job she is doing, as well as the rest of her colleagues in Dr Grays Children's ward. Thanks again for your feedback and I hope your daughter is doing well and doesn't have to go back to the children's ward before Christmas.
