I went for an assessment which failed to diagnose me and was very cursory. I asked for a second opinion. Both doctors were present that time and I felt they clearly they had no intention of diagnosing me and brushed off my explanations of traits and test results. They listed separate labels which all should have added up to a diagnosis of an autism spectrum condition. I then went to see two private professionals who diagnosed me with Asperger's. It seems to me for some reason the NHS is trying to avoid diagnosing adults on the spectrum. I have accumulated an overwhelming amount of evidence, clinical and medical (including heritability/genetic evidence) which to me categorically indicate I have Asperger's. I complained to PALS and I felt I was given a ridiculous reason for them denying me a reassessment. My next step is to go to the Health Ombudsman.
