I was taken by ambulance to Dumfries Royal Infirmary which is my local hospital. This happened last July. I was conscious but very frightened. I feel I was taken very good care of, and find now myself recovering beyond expectations. In the hospital I was treated with care and respect as well as medical expertise. The staff, though obviously short in numbers and overworked, was kindly and supportive . Being seen and followed by a trauma specialist helped me feel stronger. I was also pleasantly surprised by the food, in particular the salad plates which were fresh and plentiful. When I was moved into the physio ward, I found myself in a room with a large window looking out onto a green hillside. I found the hospital on the whole clean.
