"My care at north Devon district hospital"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency North Devon District Hospital / Intensive & Critical Care Unit North Devon District Hospital / Paediatrics

(as the patient),

In  October 2021 I overdosed in an attempt to end my life,  and was found  by a woman named Gaynor who phoned emergency services and stayed with me for hours.

I was taken to North Devon District Hospital by ambulance and in the first room I was in all the nurses were incredibly kind to me and gave me the appropriate care, and eventually I was moved to what I think was the icu where I spent my first night. The nurses and doctor there were so kind to me, and I felt safe in their care.
The next day I was moved into the Caroline Thorpe Ward which is where I was until I was discharged later in October. All of the nurses who cared for me while I was there showed exemplary levels of kindness and compassion to the extent that they made what was a horrible time for me slightly less horrible.

I am so grateful to everyone at nddh (and Gaynor).  Words cannot describe how thankful I am for your kindness.
