"Reassuring to be under their care"

I was a patient here for the ACAD unit in November for all 4 wisdom teeth to be removed.

From the moment I entered in the morning the nurse looking after me was very kind and attentive to my needs, her name began with a J if I remember correctly. She was amazing pre and post operation care and couldn’t thank her enough for being very kind and caring towards me, she really showed she cared and there was genuine love she puts into her job.

Unfortunately I can’t remember the anaesthetist name but he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and came to see me after my operation and was making efforts to make me smile. It was lovely to see a caring anaesthetist who remembers he could be the last person I see if anything was to go wrong, it means a lot to me and also I’m sure other patients. The recovery team consisted of several nurses and they made sure I felt safe in their hands when I woke up. They had conversations to make sure I was ok and try ensure I was comfortable as possible, they weren’t rushing my care and made sure I was completely fine before moving me into the area for total recovery before I went home.

Finally, the max fax team that were looking after me and did my surgery, I highly recommend. Ravi the SHO and Dr Balasundaram the Maxfax consultant they were absolutely amazing. They were very informative and made me feel comfortable with what was going to happen. I was consent very well by Ravi and then seen also by the consultant after who ran through things with me again. They both came and saw me after and debriefed me that everything went well. It was very reassuring to be under their care.

I have now had 3 operations but this was the best care I’ve received. I would like to thank the whole team who looked after me. It was a great example to amazing NHS staff who are doing their best to look after their patients.
