My Dad had an appointment for assessment with the Low Vision Service team at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion last week. Unfortunately, his transport was cancelled by my Mum, by mistake, so I turned up to support his appointment but he did not. I was a bit distressed by this - a fair bit of carer stress going on - but the lovely receptionist (sorry I didn't get her name) calmed me down, brought me water, and spoke with the Doctor (Tooth) who agreed to speak with me. She calmed me down further and suggested that I have a conversation with their Patient Support team. Again I was treated with such kindness by her - so sorry, I've also forgot the lady's name! - that we were able to come up with a plan to best support my Dad. Thank you all so much for the time, care and compassion that you showed. I felt that my Dad was getting the best possible input despite him not even being there!
