"My son wants to go home"

About: Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Inpatient mental health care

(as a relative),

My son has autism and was diagnosed by a specialist with aspergers in 2020.

He was arrested in February 2021, not released on bail, but sent to a mental health unit in Darlington, then Hartington Unit in Derbyshire, and the police did not notify me as I was looking for my son.

My son is now in the Radbourne Unit in Derby. The Doctor gave my son antipsychotic drugs and I believe steriods as my son was around 12 stones, now over 20 stones, struggling to breath, bullied in the unit as I try and speak to him every day.

The Mental Health Act Officer is nowhere to be seen as no reports from the GP, and Staff were not monitered, I try and speak to staff and all I speak to is untrained staff who sound like they have just left school.

My son expressed he wants to go home, and a meeting in October was cancelled as my son's social worker did not attend, not even leaving any information towards the review, and it was done on zoom and my son stuck in a room. The advocate, doctor and other staff on the panel decided to bring the review forward to early December 2021.

My son is no threat to himself or anyone in the Unit. The Mental Health Act Officer has not sent me a report from the Gp, no treatment written, as when there was a meeting for my son, The Gp and Social worker for my son did not produce it to the Judge. The Tribunal again was all one sided and the advocate did say the staff lied about visiting times, and other matters.

If it was their family member in there, they would not be happy and would want them home.
