My wife & the mother of my 2 little children entered your care after taking what was sadly a deliberate overdose of her Mental Health medication. Things transpired & got dangerous very, very soon leading to my wife ending up gravely ill fighting for her life on a ventilator and requiring dialysis. The fear of the engulfing feeling of impending loss was horrendous but be it by a caring hand on my shoulder or intense care of the highest order hour by hour she fought back, finding the strength to do so from your staff members, undoubtedly.
Small milestones were being met, those small victories turned into a large win in the end, My wife is alive, my family intact, my kids blissfully unaware that without the people mentioned "Mummy" would be gone. This will no doubt present as a troubling read & I apologise for this but I am determined to highlight exactly how eternally thankful I am towards everyone of you. The fight with Mental Illness goes on.
I need to find the words to thank the following people employed by NHS at the Southern General Hospital (QEuH) working in Critical Care Unit 4 - Joyce, Lucy, Kevin, Angela, Chloe, Anitha
I get that saving lives and providing care is a daily thing for every hero/heroine listed but I cannot simply accept that the events in early November onwards were "normal" or "run of the mill".
God Bless everyone of you
