My child was sent to a&e on Monday with a swollen face. They wanted to operate so they had to fast from 10am. We finally got sent upstairs at 11:45pm. We were in ward 1A and the nurse ( I didn’t catch their name) was really angry with the fact they had fasted all that time without a drink so called downstairs. They had an emergency come in so the operation was put off so they put my child on a fluid drip and also got us both toast and juice.
The operation was the next day. They we really nice to my child and to myself. Back on ward 1A they couldn’t be more caring while being soooo busy they didn’t have a minute to themselves. The main nurse was was absolutely amazing, sharing stories with my child and being reassuring. They question everything and nothing was too much for them to answer I have never met such a nice nurse who actually remembered my child from a different ward when they were having epilepsy treatment. We couldn’t be more thankful with the care received, the nurses are honestly heroes.
"Thankful for the care received"
