"Cancelled blood test."

I have been having regular blood tests as I have cancer and my consultant needs to monitor them. Recently they have been abnormal which resulted in my requiring a blood transfusion. I attended the surgery a few days after this transfusion but unfortunately the person due to take the bloods was ill and I was told I could not have another appointment for a few days. As I had a telephone appointment with my consultant coming up it was important that I had the bloods taken. But the receptionist was adamant that it could not be done and suggested I get them done at Colchester hospital. If I had been as unwell as I had been the previous week a trip to CGH would have been difficult. I did manage to get then done at Colchester but feel that the receptionist was rather dismissive of my distress on being unable to have the blood test done locally.
