"Too much noise on C24 at QMC"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General surgery

(as the patient),

In ward C24 at the Queen's Medical Centre, there was no Patientline, but there was a free-standing television. This was dominated by the person in the end bed who kept flicking through the channels. I did mention this to the nurse but was greeted by a shrug of the shoulders.

In wards with Patientline, patients should be made to use headphones (with the TV sound on mute). I found that there was often a high volume of noise and, with my illness, found this frustrating.
