"Wait times are outrageous "

About: Russells Hall Hospital

I’m classed as a high risk pregnancy and need to attend clinic every few weeks. I am so disappointed in the wait times at this maternity department. No consideration what so ever with patients who have work or family commitments. Over an hour wait to see a consultant is not good enough, pregnancy is hard work, uncomfortable, women struggle with sickness and they are being forced to wait long periods. My partner is unable to attend my appointments with me due to wait times and incompetence of the team with time keeping. I would not recommend this hospital.

Hello Lauren,

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback about your experience in the Antenatal Clinic at our hospital.

Our staff are committed to offering women a positive and fulfilling experience during pregnancy. We are sorry if we have fallen short of those standards on this occasion.

As you have acknowledged, the Antenatal Clinic is an extremely busy area of the hospital and our staff strive to see patients as efficiently and quickly as possible. We would like to say how sorry we are this did not happen during your visit to Russells Hall Hospital and for any distress caused.

The clinic is working closely with the Dudley Improvement Team to reduce waiting times and provide a better patient experience. Your comments have been shared with the Matron and Lead Nurse of the department who will take action.

You can speak to our Patient, Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 073 0510 or email dgft.patientexperience@nhs.net to discuss this further.

All the best and take care,

Patient Experience Team
