"Wonderful efficient service"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Minor Injuries Unit Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Orthopaedics (Wards 10a, 10b, 10c &10d)

(as a service user),

I was reluctant to attend A+E with my wrist injury as I know how busy and under pressure everyone is at the moment. However I finally took advice of family and attended the Minor Injuries Unit at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. After being screened very efficiently at the A&E Door by one of the senior nurses, I was directed over to Minor Injuries.

I was warmly welcomed and booked in there by a very polite and kind receptionist. I was then called in by Andrew, the Emergency Nurse Practitioner, who provided excellent prompt care and following an X-Ray, was able to tell me I had indeed broken my wrist and arranged for me to be called by Orthopaedics the following day. Charlie, the healthcare assistant fitted me with a splint to wear until I heard from them. I was in and out of the hospital in under an hour - wonderful, efficient service!

Yesterday morning, as promised by Andrew, I received the phone call from Orthopaedics to attend the Plaster Room that afternoon where I was reviewed, plaster applied and follow up appointment arranged again all in under an hour.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the level of care and attention I received during my visits.

Dear JMM48

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback in regards to your experience of using both the Minor Injuries Unit and also the Orthopaedics Department of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after breaking your wrist.

It was heart warming to hear of the care you received throughout your journey and how all the staff were efficient and caring throughout.

I will be delighted to pass on your comments to all the staff involved who I'm sure will be touched to hear such great feedback.

I hope your wrist is recovering well and thanks again this means a lot to the staff in these difficult times.

Kind regards

Kevin
