"Poor nursing care"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute)

Anything else?

I spent several days in NGH with a fractured femur and during that short time was moved to three wards. In the first two I was provided with prescribed medication at appropriate times by the nursing staff. They gave the impression that represented the sum total of what nursing involved. I was not offered any toilet facilities until I eventually requested a bowl of water, I was left in a stained theatre gown sitting up in a bed that had broken and would not flatten for over 24 hrs. Ward staff frequently shouted at each other from one end of the ward to the other - totally unprofessional in my view.

We are very sorry to hear that you are unhappy about the treatment you received at NGH. Could you provide us with details of when and where this was, so that we can follow it up? Please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at PALS@ngh.nhs.uk or 01604 545784. Thank you.
