"Covid 19 vaccination programme fantastic service"

About: NHS Lanarkshire / Covid 19 Vaccination Programme

(as a service user),

My sister who has MS was unable to access her local vaccination facility due to her disability. When her husband received his he mentioned my sister’s predicament. His vaccinator told him to bring my sister to the facility and reverse his car as close to the door as possible. The vaccinator then gave my sister her booster jab while seated in her car.

Dear Basil

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us around your sister's experience with access difficulties at the vaccine centre, which ultimately sadly would mean that she was unable to have the vaccine.

I am delighted to hear that after her husband spoke to one of the vaccinators, alternative arrangements were made to allow your sister's requirements to be met. Your family have certainly witnessed the extraordinary care our teams deliver every day and we are thankful for the great staff we have.

Your feedback will be shared with the team and I know they will be truly grateful you have taken the time to share your story.

Lesley
