I am seriously ill with terminal cancer, our lives were crashing around us and we had no idea what to do or how to get help. Last week I was referred to the Macmillan service and Cherry came out to urgently see us and we didn’t know how much we needed her!
She was a shining light on such a dark day. She listened to us as a family and asked how we all were not just myself. She was compassionate, kind and empathic and also very practical, she prescribed medications and explained the reason behind the medications, she also Arranged someone to come to assess and provide me with equipment so I could stay at home.
Due to her actions today I sit pain free, today I have been able to continue to write my children’s memory books and have hope for the future. She is a remarkable nurse. She visited today and I was again touched by her kindness and professionalism and ability to really “see” me. I needed to talk about death and what it would be like and she listened, wasn’t phased by any of it and gently discussed with me the dying process which in all the time I have been ill no one has given me space to do those discussions.
I feel safe in Cherry’s hands and she is a credit to your team.
"An amazing nurse and wonderful service."
