My Mother was admitted to the Acute Stroke Unit on 12th October - ward 6e in RVH and spent over one week on the unit before transferring back to Antrim Hospital.
The care and treatment my Mother received from the whole team was exceptional and as a family we will be forever grateful. Dr Roberts and Dr Neilly ensured that medically my Mother had everything she could possibly have to give her the best chance of recovery. They both kept us fully informed about my Mother’s progress and treatment, which was so appreciated during covid times. They took time to talk to and listen to us which really helped to alleviate our anxiety at such a difficult time. The care, compassion and empathy shown by both Doctors is how all care and treatment should be delivered. The Nursing staff were equally exceptional. Both day and night staff. At a time when we could not be with my Mother we knew that she was so well cared for and looked after by the team. No phone call was a bother and they helped us to stay in touch via video calls etc. The care my Mother received and compassion shown was amazing. Even though the Nursing Staff where run off their feet, they always took time to talk to us and were so understanding, reassuring and provided great comfort to us as a family. Special thanks to Linda, Theresa, Jessica and Maria. Honestly, forever grateful to this team - true superheroes.
